Degree in Applied IT program at SLTC is a unique program being introduced with the Ministry of Sports and Youth Affairs. National Youth Council and National Youth Corps are collaborating with SLTC on delivery. The curriculum of the program has been developed with the participation of SLASSCOM, TRACE and Fitis.

With its advancements, information technology has made its way into all other businesses and industries. From home automation and surveillance to digital marketing IT applications are found everywhere. Such a wide range of applications means an increase in the job opportunities for suitably skilled personnel. The aim of the Bachelor of Applied Information Technology program is to produce a graduate who has the knowledge, skills and attitudes required to take up the above-mentioned low- to mid-range jobs in the IT industry.

The DAIT program is developed taking into account the subject benchmark statements of the UGC and industry needs. In the final year students are given an opportunity to select from a pool of elective courses that are geared towards particular technologies, concepts or methods used in the industry. The technical electives will be updated on a regular basis to reflect the changes happening in the industry.

Entry Qualification

Three simple passes (3S) in any subject stream in the same sitting at the GCE A/L (Advanced Level) examination or an equivalent qualification.
